Medication Treatment
We frequently believe that nervousness, panic attacks, depression, distress from the memory or any other mental phenomenon is due to a matter of mind, life situation, or even character problem.
Nowadays, researchers begin to verify these phenomena are directly related to the neurocircuit of our brain and that our overall mental well-being is connected with the brain neurocircuitry. A little disturbance of neurocircuit can impair our wellbeing of life significantly.
Just as it’s important to have your physical body checked by your primary care provider, it’s just as important to have your mental health checked as well. Mental health medication reduces these symptoms significantly as Tylenol reduces headache. While our primary care colleagues take care of physical aspects of treatment, psychiatrist is concerned about your mental well-being of life and utilizes mental health medication along with counseling for your integrated heath.
Individual Counseling
Psychotherapy, also known as therapy, is a term that can generally be referred to as the “treatment of mental and emotional disorders through the use of psychological techniques designed to encourage communication of conflicts and insights into problems, with the goal being personality growth and behavior modification.” (American Heritage Dictionary)
Counseling is a specific-problem or issue focused brief therapy. Individual counseling provides a private space for clients whose clinical needs can be better explored in a confidential setting. At Vine Psychiatric Associates, LLC (VPA), clinicians incorporate various counseling techniques and treatment modalities in order to create a therapeutic environment.
Family Counseling
Couples counseling and family therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy that deals with family patterns of behavior, couples relationships, individual challenges using a systemic framework to nurture change. Counselors will help the family recognize patterns, build on strengths and develop alternatives, providing all family members a voice in the process.
Some of the issues most frequently addressed include resolving marital and couple difficulties; easing relationship or communication struggles; moving beyond family violence or substance abuse; helping a troubled child, teenager, or family; or dealing with emotional distress such as anxiety or depression, grief, and loss.
